About The Event
We are delighted to present a special workshop run for us by JB Skater Kelvin aka PoohElite
Spaces are Limited - book early!
Skate owners only, no hire available. Â No need to remove toe stops for this workshop if you prefer to wear them.
Introduction to JB Style will break down some fundamental moves in lots of detail.
The second workshop JB Skills will re-cap these moves more quickly before moving onto putting them together to create a short routine.
It is possible to do both workshops (3 hours of skating) - just purchase a combined ticket.
What is JB?
JB Style originated in Chicago roller rinks in the 1970s.
There are lots of different moves that fall under JB style, including middle work, routines and splitting.
Pooh will focus on more of the footwork that will create moving routines.
JB Style is one of many rink styles that form part of US rink culture. Â We feel it is very important that these styles are taught by the people who skate within this culture. Â While our team went to the Skate Love BCN 2022 festival and did one workshop with Pooh, Temptest, Smooth Godess and Chanel, this doesn't qualify us to teach this style. We are very much learning ourselves and are very excited to have this opportunity. Â Pooh is very generous to start his UK skate community tour in Leeds.
Check out this video where Mel interviewed Pooh recently to learn more about JB style and his teaching style.
