Roller Dance Favourites 28th June
Time & Location
About The Event
With the Friday night Fundamentals ending (for now) we would love to offer you the opportunity to check out the top floor studio at Yorkshire Dance. We are also planning events, and want everyone to feel confident and disco ready!
Skill requirements for the class:
To get the most from this class, we suggest you can: step from side to side, roll forwards a little and backwards a little.
Feel comfortable to stand still on your roller skates. If you have attended any of the roller dance Fundamentals classes at Dance Studio Leeds, you will be ready for this class :)
What will we do?
We always start with a warm up on skates. We will run through some our favourite roller dances, as well as level up your skills and give you plenty of opportunity to practise or ask questions about roller dance skills you are trying to learn. Roller dance is an excellent way to learn to accelerate your progress, and you will come away with lots of ideas of things to practise. The studio has a wooden floor and mirrors to encourage you to look at your feet in the mirror (it helps with balance) . Please do spread out in the space!
What equipment do I need?
You will need all your own equipment - roller skates and any protective pads. Helmets are optional. You do not need indoor specific wheels, and you do not need to take your toe stops out.
How many people are at the class? (aka I don't want to look daft in front of a massive group)
There are a maximum of 10 participants. The venue is classed as COVID secure, and there is actually room for up to 18 participants in the studio we use.
Directions to the venue:
Yorkshire Dance is located in Leeds City Centre, just past The Wardrobe on St Peter's Square. There is no on-site parking, but lots of pay-to-park locations Quarry Mount, Maude Street car parks and on the street right outside. We are required to wait on the pavement outside Yorkshire Dance until our allotted time, when a member of the team will come to let us in. On entering the building, you will need to use the sanitising spray and wear a face covering until you get to the studio. We do not require you to wear a face covering in class.
