Stories are powerful and even more so when you hear someon'e story told directly by them. This project has been very humbling. The very personal things that folks have chosen to share are gifts. You'll see!

Episode 13: Dalila

Dalila (they/them) found roller skating during lockdown and through the community they helped to shape, they are now part of passing on this gift of roller skating. Even though we had never met or spoken before, Dalila gives of warmth that made me feel safe. I would love to go take a class to improve my spinning with them one day - how about you?

Dalila says "It's just you and the music. Spinning is known to be part of spirituality in a lot of cultures. There is a sect of Sufis who are called whirling dervishes. They spin on their feet and never get dizzy and that's how they connect with themselves and the universe, and I get that through spinning on my skates."
