Weekly Round Up (from 16th September) Welcome Students!

Shop opening hours - from 12 noon every weekday and 10am at weekends.

Did you know we sell refreshments and fancy coffee? As an alcohol free space, we know its important to stay hydrated and energised. We want you to leave The Skate Sanctuary feeling relaxed and fulfilled. As well as a selection of herbal and decaf teas, we also have fresh coffee, alternative milks and even coffee syrup! Prices are really reasonable (listen you may need to pour your own milk - it helps us keep costs down).

Monday- We are excited for the launch of our new adult learn to roller skate course, starting today!

We are truly thrilled that you trust our team to look after you. We will get you rolling and you'll make some new friends in the process.

Our evening practise session 7.30 - 9.30pm is open to all adults wanting a little shuffle around.

Tuesday - This week sees the last of our Tuesday Discover Roller Dance Sessions, as our testing has shown that you either feel ready for the Wednesday Focus and Flow session, or you're not quite there! This session will deliver footwork fundamentals and body basics as well as give you plenty to practise.

Wednesday - Our popular Focus and Flow class 6.30 - 8.30pm is starting to become more popular and we strongly recommend booking ahead to ensure your place.

This month we are focussed on the Cross Step, as a fundamental step that will also be extremely useful when you are skating.

Thursday - Our WELCOME STUDENTS event is running from 3pm - 7pm. Sign up for our special price membership, get a free goody bag and a free skate! Woo hoo!

7 - 9.30pm is our late evening practise session. Come and hang out in a warm, dry space!

Friday - Our shop and studio at Mabgate Mills closes at 6pm, but we are at the Ramgarhia sports hall from 7,30 - 10pm with our regular Friday Night Social.

Please note that advance ticket sales remain open until 8.30pm, after this time, you will need to purchase your ticket on the door.

If you have been collecting loyalty card stamps, you are able to just redeem this at the door for a free skate - easy peasy!

Saturday - Our shop and studio are open 10-6pm and we have a skate maintenance session 4-6pm. Come along with your skates and your questions and have expert knowledge to support you!

Sunday - We have lots of capacity in our Learn to Roller skate classes for adults (over at the Ramgarhia sports hall) - so do come along and see what all the fuss is about!

For folks wanting to continue their skate journey with us, our specialised skate workshops, this week - TRANSITIONS - may be of interest to you?

This session is suitable for skaters looking to smooth out their skating and learn a variety of ways to turn around. Even if you think you know every single one, we're pretty sure we can offer a bit more challenge ;)

COMING UP:

The last Saturday of the month will feature our fabulous local skaters at The Skate Sanctuary with guest workshops. We are incredibly pleased to offer space to these folks!

Saturday 28th September: Guest Skate Teacher - John's 8 Wheel Freestyle class will focus on building fundamental skills that give you the confidence to freestyle. You've probably spotted him at Friday Night Social working on one move all night. He is an advocate of 'drill it 'til you kill it' . 4-6pm - spaces are limited!

Saturday 26th October - Alana's Artistic Transitions will focus on performance and confidence.

Saturday 30th November - Mel's Latin-inspired Choreography will bring some much needed spice to our chilly autumn weekends!

The first Saturday of the month sees our dance pals offering their style in an off-skates workshop, followed by a little disco opportunity. Our teachers understand they're working with skaters (who may be a little awkward with the dancing) and are also selecting moves and skills that are the most transferable to roller skates. We think it's really exciting to learn new ways to move and have loved all the workshops so far!

So far this year, we've enjoyed the company of: July: Chi - Fan Flow

August - Jazz - Whacking / Waacking

September - Pareesha - Dancehall

October - Ste Rex - Falling and styling it out (Breakdance)

November - Jemma - Afro Fusion

December - Chi is back with Fan Flow part 2

Also look out for our monthly crafternoons, which are pay-as-you-feel, so you can connect with others and enjoy a little time to create something and have a chat.
